Incheon Airport Transfer for 5 People: Luggage & Booking Checks
For five people arriving at Incheon Airport with suitcases, start by checking whether everyone and every bag can travel together. A pre-arranged van can make the hotel journey simpler, but its passenger limit and luggage limit must work at the same time. AREX remains the budget option for a group that can manage its own bags; an airport bus can be a good middle ground when the stop is close to your hotel.
This guide is for families and small groups of five. For a broader route overview, use our Incheon Airport to Seoul comparison; for one specific destination, see Incheon Airport to Myeongdong.

First, count people and luggage separately
“Five passengers” tells you little about the usable luggage space. Before comparing prices, make one inventory for the entire group:
- Travelers: all adults and children, including infants. Ask how any child seat changes the available seating.
- Suitcases: the number of large cases and carry-ons, with external dimensions including wheels and handles.
- Other items: backpacks, a folded stroller, golf bags, a wheelchair or shopping bags. Mention these even when they do not count as airline checked baggage.
- Practical needs: who can lift a case, who needs help boarding, and whether anyone needs a step-free route.
For a road transfer, get written confirmation that your complete inventory fits with all five people seated. A vehicle’s model name or advertised seat count is not a packing demonstration. If you cannot confirm the fit, price a larger vehicle or two suitable vehicles before travel.
Van, jumbo taxi, bus or AREX?
Pre-arranged van: strongest when staying together matters
A confirmed direct transfer is worth considering when you have several large cases, young children, an awkward hotel walk or little energy after the flight. Its value is fewer transfers and a clearer arrival plan. Road traffic still affects the journey, and a booking request alone is not proof that a vehicle is secured.
Related paid option: the SeoulExperience Incheon Airport private van currently lists a driver, up to five passengers, five large suitcases and three carry-on-size cases, between Incheon Airport and Seoul accommodation. Those are the seller’s published limits, not independently tested packing capacity. Send your bag dimensions and any stroller or oversized item, and confirm simultaneous fit before booking. Ask separately about child-seat availability, suitability and any charge; the listing does not establish those details.
Commercial disclosure: SeoulTravelNow.com is connected with SeoulExperience.com and has a commercial interest in this paid service. Public transport and official taxis remain alternatives.
Official jumbo taxi: a useful option to compare
Incheon Airport lists a jumbo-taxi category, but you should still confirm passenger and luggage space for the actual vehicle. Do not plan five people into an ordinary sedan or assume a “9-seater” label leaves room for five large cases. If you need two taxis, both groups should have the same hotel address and a way to contact each other.
Use the designated taxi stands. The airport warns about solicitation by call vans posing as taxis. Check the vehicle category, fare basis, tolls and applicable late-night charges before departure using the official airport taxi guide.
Airport bus: check the final walk and the bag rules
A bus is appealing when its stop is close to the hotel and everyone can manage the walk from the stop. Check that five people can board the same departure; do not assume five adjacent seats. The airport’s bus route search helps identify the route for your actual destination.
Airport Limousine Co. has specific baggage limits. Its current English passenger notice counts carry-ons and large backpacks as baggage, not just suitcases placed underneath. It permits up to two pieces per passenger under its standard limits: each under 28 inches and 20 kg, with each piece’s length + width + height no more than 158 cm. It restricts oversized or heavier baggage to one piece per passenger and lists an excess-piece charge. This is not a promise to accept any oversized item: items beyond the limits or posing a risk to other luggage may be refused. Confirm a borderline bag or stroller with the operator. Other bus companies may use different rules.

AREX: best value when the group can handle the whole rail journey
Five people can use the train without finding one vehicle large enough for the whole group. The trade-off is moving the bags through the station and onward to the hotel. Assign bags to people realistically, especially when an adult is also handling a stroller or helping a child.
The AREX Express has reserved seating and runs between the airport and Seoul Station. The all-stop service also serves useful city stops such as Hongik University and Gongdeok. Choose by your hotel location, rather than automatically riding to Seoul Station and backtracking.
Compare the total for five, then add the final leg
These are arithmetic examples using published adult fares, not five-person package quotes. Child fares, discounts and the route can change the result.
- AREX all-stop to Seoul Station: five adults using transit cards total ₩23,750 from T1 or ₩26,750 from T2 (five × ₩4,750 or ₩5,350). The official tariff adds ₩100 per adult single-use ticket plus a refundable ₩500 deposit. Check the through-fare if continuing by subway.
- AREX Express: five adults at the currently published ₩13,000 fare total ₩65,000 to Seoul Station. Add the hotel connection. A final taxi leg still needs enough passenger and bag capacity.
- Airport Limousine 6015, as a Myeongdong example: five adult tickets at ₩17,000 each total ₩85,000. Include any luggage charges and the last walk or ride. This is not a price for every airport bus.
- Van or jumbo taxi: request a total for the correct date, terminal, destination and complete group. Check whether tolls, waiting, parking, late-night service, extra stops and child seats are included or charged separately.
Compare all options in the same currency at the time of booking. A cheap rail ticket may still be the best choice, but its airport-to-station price is not a door-to-door total. Equally, five bus tickets do not prove that a private van will cost less.
Five checks before confirming a pickup
- Flight and terminal: give the flight number, arrival date in Korea, terminal and hotel’s full address. T1 and T2 are separate pickup locations.
- Meeting instructions: ask for the exact floor, exit or meeting point, how to identify the driver, and what to do if you cannot find them.
- Delay and waiting rules: ask when waiting time starts, how a delayed flight is handled and what happens if immigration or baggage collection takes longer. Landing time is not your ready-to-leave time.
- Complete capacity confirmation: send the five-person count and full bag inventory. For a child seat, obtain explicit confirmation of the suitable seat and installation arrangement before relying on it.
- Price and cancellation: check the currency, total, extra-charge conditions, cancellation deadline and no-show terms. Save the confirmation and service-day contact details offline.
For an early return flight, confirm the hotel pickup time for your departure terminal and airline’s check-in requirements. Leave room for traffic and unloading all the bags; reversing the arrival journey time is not a reliable departure plan.
Map reference: this guide’s map pin marks the Terminal 1 transport-center area as a planning reference. It is not a driver meeting point and does not represent Terminal 2. Follow your confirmed pickup instructions.
A simple choice for your group
- Five mobile adults, manageable bags and an easy station-to-hotel route: start with AREX.
- A hotel close to a suitable bus stop and baggage within that operator’s rules: compare the bus total.
- Children, bulky luggage or a difficult final walk: compare a confirmed van with a suitably sized official taxi.
The deciding question is whether the plan works for all five people and all their luggage, from the terminal to the hotel door. Confirm that first, then choose the price and level of convenience that suit your group.
